McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act
If your family lives in any of the following situations:

Temporarily doubled up with friends or family because you cannot find or afford housing

Living in a motel, hotel, trailer park or campground due to lack of alternative adequate accommodations

Living in a car, park, abandoned building, bus or train station or similar setting
-
You are an unaccompanied youth, under the age of 18, living without a parent/guardian
-
Abandoned in a hospital or awaiting foster care
-
Living in an emergency shelter or transitional housing
Your child may be eligible for:

Free breakfast and lunch programs

Transportation services
-
Special transportation for children to remain in their school of origin

Tutoring programs
-
Programs to help children learn English
-
Gifted or talented programs
-
Summer school programs
-
Pre-school programs
-
After-school programs
-
Special education programs, especially if the student received special education services at their previous school
